Our Planet Orca (OPO) is an independent Ocean-awareness initiative dedicated to Awakening Awareness and encouraging practical participation in Ocean recovery
We believe that the Ocean's future depends on persistent action throughout the year, bringing together science, citizen action, responsible organisations and businesses to help protect and restore Ocean health
Blue Orca Initiatives
Through the Blue Orca Initiatives, OPO
recognises and promotes organisations, projects and enterprises
making practical contributions to Ocean recovery.
Each Nomination
introduces the work of the Nominated organisation to a wider audience,
helping the organisation to build awareness, connections and public support.
Our aim is to help the good work of that organisation reach further, particularly where limited resources
or geographical isolation restrict its visibility and potential.

"Our Ocean Needs You" (OONY) carries this message to the public, encouraging everyone to contribute their own Drop in the Ocean - whether through learning, sharing, participation or practical support for work already under way
Working Towards Shared Goals
Our approach shares and supports the ambitions and direction of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14 - Life Below Water and the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021–2030), particularly the need to turn awareness and knowledge into meaningful action for a healthier Ocean
